“Bruce Dukes had been making wine in Margaret River for a long time at his own custom crush winery under contract for other brands. He wanted to launch his own brand using premium Margaret River fruit, the finest components and his own wine-making know-how. Although Bruce was an assistant winemaker for Francis Ford Coppola in the Napa Valley, he does not use a single grain of American oak in any of this wines.. everything is French.
The first vintages were released late 2014 and the results have been sensational! The Direction series “Sauvage” Sauv-Sem was awarded the IWC trophy for best Margaret River Sauv-Sem and the “Artus” Chardonnay was awarded the IWC trophy for best Margaret River Chardonnaythe two principal white wines from the region! Also the Direction “Rebus” Cabernet was the joint highest scoring Cabernet in the 2016 James Halliday wine companion.
All of the wines from Domaine Naturaliste show unbelievable varietal characteristics, opulent fruit, gorgeous texture and subtle oak. World class wines made by someone who is on top of their game!
