McLaren Vale Adelaide Chardonnay

16 Stops McLaren Vale Adelaide Chardonnay – Fresh and elegant, this wine has good fruit weight and aromas including apple and white peach, a lovely texture and a savoury, mealy edge. The acidity is nicely balanced, giving the wine good length on the finish.

The grapes for the Chardonnay were sourced from Currency Creek, a region on the Fleurieu Peninsula, about 80 kilometres south of Adelaide. The region is not far from the sea, so night time temperatures are not extreme and the daytime temperatures are moderated by cool breezes in the afternoons.

The name 16 Stops comes from the number of stops on the railway line from Adelaide to the Vineyard.

The Barry Brothers

This wine is dark in colour with a deep purple hue. A welcoming nose demonstrates vibrant notes of blackcurrant, violets, vanilla, raspberry and mint. Juicy plum and raspberry fruit are tightly woven with notes of espresso, dark chocolate, liquorice and cassis. The palate is built on chocolaty tannins providing a well rounded, lingering finish.

Sparkling Brut

Light floral bouquet. The crisp acid races across the palate while the natural fruit in the middle taste gives weight and flavour.

Sauvignon Blanc Semillon

The wine is very pale with green hues. The aroma and palate profiles are driven very much by cool climate Sauvignon Blanc characters; snow pea, passionfruit and herbal aromas with some citrus notes. The Semillon provides some mid palate intensity as well as some attractive lemon rind characters. The feature of the wine is the freshness, vitality and brightness of the palate with a core of very clean and pure fruit with crisp and refreshing acidity. The finish is dry and clean.
