The family owned business started in 1986 with the label Howard Park, its roots deeply imbedded in the Great Southern region of Western Australia. Today Howard Park sources fruit for its iconic wines from family owned vineyards throughout Leston and Allingham vineyards in Margaret River, and Mt Barrow and Abercrombie vineyards in the Great Southern.
Since 1992, Allegory have been producing an exciting range of contemporary, cool climate wines inspired by the wild, coastal and pure characteristics of Australia’s South West. Ranging from a vibrant Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot to a sweet Moscato, the flavour of the fruit is the primary character for all the Allegory wines. Located in Western Australia’s popular wine region, Allegory is regarded as one of best wineries in Margaret River. Life can’t be taken too seriously so come and join us in the madness.

Allegory Pinot Noir – a great example of the softer french plummy varietal normally associated with Burgundy but produced instead in Western Australia.

Allegory

Allegory is a range of expressive varietal wines that showcases the elegance and vibrancy typical of Western Australia. They are made by Howard Park, a family-owned winery founded in 1986, and one of the state’s best respected producers. Howard Park have a unique combined expertise in both the Margaret River and Great Southern regions, and by carefully blending selected parcels of fruit from each, they allow Allegory to capture the essence of Western Australia.

Western Australia

This state is a relatively small contributor to the country’s grape plantings. However it does not stop the state being responsible for some of the finest wines coming out of Australia. This region clearly has a turning point in its wine producing status. Research reports from Californian viticulturalist Professor Harold Olmo, in the 1950s, and the Western Australian scientist Dr John Gladstone, in the 1960s, indicated that the more southern cooler regions of Western Australia where very well suited for production of world quality wines. Now these regions: Margaret River, Great Southern and Pemberton are the major wine producing regions of Western Australia. Margaret River region is now one of the premium regions of Australia and regarded along with Coonawarra and Yarra Valley as one of the three premium Cabernet Sauvignon areas in Australia.
