Fraser Gallop Parterre Chardonnay

This chardonnay is more complex than the usual un-oaked chardonnay by the number of techniques used in the making of it. The best way to explain this wine is to say it is more Chablis in style – a leaner more acidic style with minimal oak influence.

Predominantly citrus, with undertones of lemon and lime. A crisp acid bite and a sense of nougat milk to round it out. A lovely understated creaminess from the lightly toasted oak and yeast lees. Slender, precise and fine.

“Was established in 1999 and located in one of the world`s greatest premium wine-producing regions – Margaret River, Western Australia. Fraser Gallop Estate captures all of the elements of its terroir in the wine. At each stage everything necessary is done to ensure that the individuality of the Estate is reflected in the wines. From the selection of the site, to the care of the vineyard, to the respectful treatment of the fruit, they make no compromise in our commitment to the making of great wine.

Western Australia

Regarded as one of Australia’s best wine producing regions. It is synonymous with a new era in Australian wine. Margaret River really began its vineyard life as a result of two research reports from Californian viticulturalist Professor Harold Olmo and the Western Australian scientist Dr John Gladstone. In 1965 Dr Gladstone’s report indicated that the region had all the attributes to produce world quality wines. This advise was acted on by Dr Tom Cullity who set up his Vasse Felix vineyard near Willyabrup, followed by Dr Kevin Cullen and his wife Di who set up Cullen Wines. The climate is regarded as ‘cool’ because of its long slow ripening season. This region is regarded along with Coonawarra and the Yarra Valley as one of the premium Cabernet Sauvignon areas in Australia. The main wine styles: Red – Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet-Merlot, Shiraz; White – Chardonnay, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon-Sauvignon Blanc, Verdelho.
