Madfish Sauvignon Blanc Semillon

Madfish Sauvignon Blanc Semillon

Madfish Sauvignon Blanc Semillon from the Burch Family Wineries.

Clear pale straw in colour with lovely fresh fruit aromas of guava, pear and lemon zest tickled with wafts of jasmine florals. The palate shows apple, pear and passionfruit notes around a key lime citrus background. A bright, juicy wine with heaps of fruit flavour and a zesty acidity.

Best drunk now and over the next year.

All components were kept separate and blended to produce a wine of outstanding primary Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon fruit characters. Some skin contact and a low temperature fermentation regime were adopted to enhance and preserve the finer fruit characters of these aromatic varieties. A small component fermented in older oak has added richness and weight to the palate.SKU: MADFI05

MadFish Wines

“MadFish, produced by Howard Park Wines, are wines with an emphasis on enjoyment and drinkability. They are for people who enjoy the pleasures of life: family, friends, food and wine.
As the story suggests, the MadFish name is derived from the magnificent MadFish Bay near the Howard Park Great Southern winery. The traditional aboriginal water turtle design on the label is a symbol of perseverance and tolerance – no doubt characteristics displayed by the poor fish in MadFish Bay who are constantly under attack by their predators.”

Western Australia

This state is a relatively small contributor to the country’s grape plantings. However it does not stop the state being responsible for some of the finest wines coming out of Australia. This region clearly has a turning point in its wine producing status. Research reports from Californian viticulturalist Professor Harold Olmo, in the 1950s, and the Western Australian scientist Dr John Gladstone, in the 1960s, indicated that the more southern cooler regions of Western Australia where very well suited for production of world quality wines. Now these regions: Margaret River, Great Southern and Pemberton are the major wine producing regions of Western Australia. Margaret River region is now one of the premium regions of Australia and regarded along with Coonawarra and Yarra Valley as one of the three premium Cabernet Sauvignon areas in Australia.
