Keith Tulloch Chardonnay

Keith Tulloch Chardonnay

Keith Tulloch Chardonnay – This is a tight, bright, focused wine with a finer nucleus of fruit than usual, and this texture, balance and fine oak will therefore take longer in the bottle to integrate and develop. These characters open out with breathing to reveal the typical barrel ferment funkiness – peach, melon and passionfruit plus hints of smoky vanilla oak – combining in a harmonious Burgundy-like balance.

Keith Tulloch Chardonnay has a fine bright colour showing exceptional green hue and freshness. Aromatically, the notes are vibrant with great fruit drive, white fig perfumes mix with nectarine, pineapple and yellow melon. Beautiful elements of deluxe French oak support and deepen the bouquet, with delicate vanilla spiciness adding warmth and softness.
The palate glides with the wonderful harmony of primary and malolactic barrel fermentation; the mouth feel is yoghurt-like and glossy, with superb texture and persistence. Melon and fig flavours predominate, yet nectarine and pineapple brightness provides lift and focus onto a long finish.
Drink: Delicious now to 2026.
Food Match: Shellfish, poultry dishes, and soft cheeses.

Allegory Sauvignon Blanc Semillon

Allegory Sauvignon Blanc Semillon

Allegory Sauvignon Blanc Semillon – The racy, vibrant blend of this  Sauvignon Blanc Semillon is the essence of everything good about Western Australia and our special coastal vineyards. Two great grapes harmoniously combined to produce a riotously fresh, fragrant and friendly wine. The pairing of these two famous grape varieties has, over time, evolved into the region’s signature white wine – nobody does it better!

Sauvignon is the star of the show. Upfront, fresh, lovely, highly aromatic, very showy. Semillon, on the other hand, is all about weight and viscosity, length and structure. The more reserved character, behind the scene, holding the show together.

Clear and pale straw in colour with lovely fresh fruit aromas of guava, pear and lemon zest tickled with wafts of jasmine florals. The palate shows apple, pear and passionfruit notes around a key lime citrus background. A bright, juicy wine with heaps of fruit flavour and a zesty acidity.

d'Arenberg Stump Jump Case

Stump Jump Sauvignon Blanc

Stump Jump Sauvignon Blanc

Clean, fresh and full of passionfruit, with lychee and gooseberries that dance across the palate.

Name It is rumoured that the inventor of the Stump Jump plough, which enabled a ploughshare to jump over tree roots, had poor eyesight and required regular tests to ensure he could still operate machinery. The design of this label is inspired by an optometrist’s eyechart and serves as a makeshift sobriety test. If you can hold the bottle at arm’s length and still read the front label, you can enjoy another glass.
The Winemaking -The grapes used in this wine underwent gentle crushing, temperature controlled fermentation and basket pressing prior to bottling.
The Vintage – Quite a wet winter with July, August and September being way above average in rainfall. October, November and December were a little below average and January, February and March were more or less bone dry. Temperatures were mild until late January, so vines seemed to be delayed and harvest appeared like it was again going to be late. However, a few hot days and nights brought the ripening forward with slight sacrifice of acidity. The above average temperatures of February and March and the dryness made everything ripen relatively quickly. Yields appeared on the lighter side, because the heat and dry conditions did reduce them significantly, however they were still quite respectable across all varieties.
The Wine – Strongly aromatic, with cut grass, tropical fruit and snow peas. The palate is bright and fresh, with zingy stone fruit and citrus. Simple yet refreshing, this wine should be chilled and slurped in summer.

Not Your Grandma's Riesling

Not Your Grandma’s Riesling

Floral, lemon/lime and lychee aromas are followed by intense apple, lime and orange blossom on the palate. The wine has great length of palate with the soft refreshing acidity balancing the intensity of fruit and providing the backbone to enable medium to long term cellaring if so desired

From a  single Springton vineyard picked on two separate dates to capture both natural acidity/freshness and intensity of flavour. The two parcels were then cold fermented in a stainless steel tank to preserve purtity of fruit then bottled with only a minimal addition of sulphur dioxide.

This is the exciting new face of winemaking in Australia. Established in 2008 by brothers-in-law Daniel Chaffey Hartwig and Theo Engela, Chaffey Bros champion Riesling, Shiraz and Grenache from Eden and Barossa Valleys. Working in the realm of minimal intervention, artisan, small-batch wines, the pair prioritise experimentation and quality. Dan and Theo share a love for the sometimes brutal, remote landscapes of Barossa and Eden Valleys, which also boast a rich tapestry of passionate communities.

BROTHERS-IN-LAW DANIEL CHAFFEY HARTWIG AND THEO ENGELA ARE THE LATEST GENERATION OF THE CHAFFEY FAMILY TO PLY THEIR VINOUS TRADE IN AUSTRALIA. THE ORIGINAL CHAFFEY BROTHERS (CANADIAN HYDRO ENGINEERS) WERE TRUE ICONOCLASTS. THEY ARRIVED IN AUSTRALIA IN 1886 AND PROCEEDED (ALONG WITH A NUMBER OF THEIR DECENDANTS) TO MAKE AN INDELIBLE MARK ON THE AUSTRALIAN WINE LANDSCAPE. OUR HANDMADE MINIMAL INTERVENTION WINES COME FROM INDIVIDUAL PARCELS OF LOW YIELDING VINEYARDS, SPREAD THROUGHOUT THE BAROSSA AND EDEN VALLEYS. DRAWING ON TRUE OLD VINES AND COMPLEX SOILS, WE SEE OURSELVES AS PART PARFUMIER – DISCOVERING DELICATE AROMATICS; PART HISTORIAN – PRESERVING THE PURITY OF PRISTINE FRUIT; AND PART MAD SCIENTIST – REVELLING IN THE LOST ART OF SMALL BATCH BLENDING. OLD VINES OF EDEN VALLEY RIESLING AND BAROSSA VALLEY GRENACHE AND SHIRAZ ARE OUR BUILDING BLOCKS… OUR PILLARS.
