Tar & Roses Pinot Grigio

Tar & Roses Pinot Grigio

Tar & Roses Pinot Grigio

A LUSCIOUS TEXTURAL WINE WITH MOUTH FILLING JUICY PEAR AND HONEYDEW MELON CHARACTERS, WELL BALANCED, CRUNCHY ACIDITY.

This Victorian Pinot Grigio from Tar & Roses is the model for Australian Pinot Grigio. It is full of juicy, almost explosive fruits. It’s gently aromatic and pale in colour with the smell of Summer – bright and fresh pear and citrus fruits plus a touch of almost nutty complexity. It is mid-weight with great balance and with a finish of pure silk. Find this under $20 and you are in for a real treat.

It’s the little things that make the difference… the care and continued maintenance of the wines during maturation, the constant monitoring of temperature and acid levels during ferment plus the use of quality fruit at the outset combine to ensure a quality wine result. We want to produce wines that have individual flair and are distinctly varietal and reflective of their terroir as grown here in Australia.

Inspired by Mediterranean grape varietals, the range stretches from the delicious viscous Pinot Grigio to the complex tannic Nebbiolo.

Tar & Roses

Tar & Roses reflects the multi-regions of Spain, Italy and Australia, as well as traditional winemaking alongside the new. All Tar & Roses wines are lovingly made using fruit grown in Heathcote, Strathbogie Ranges, King Valley and Priorat, Spain.

Victoria

Victoria is a small state in area, but home to possibly the largest number of wineries in Australia, most of them which are small family-run operations. Victoria’s diverse topography, combining numerous mountain ranges, like the Grampians and the Victorian Pyrenees throughout the centre; flat plains in the northeast; and hilly, ocean-cooled reaches in the Melbourne area, make its vineyards amongst the most scenic in Australia. An enormous range of wine styles are available, and virtually every varietal flourishes in some part of the state.

Pinot Gris/Pinot Grigio

“Australian Pinot Grigio/Pinot Gris is another fairly recent arrival that is starting to develop a strong following worldwide. This should be no surprise, as its Alsace cousin, Riesling, has been an Aussie star for several decades.
It comes in two main styles, each equally fashionable: fresh, crisp, unwooded and simple (ideal for hot summer day drinking), and later-picked spicier, richer wine (delicately buttery) which keeps a treat in the cellar.
Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula and Great Western regions and the State of Tasmania all produce stunning examples of this now popular variety.”
