Vineyard
This wine is made from Muscat of Alexandria grapes grown in vineyards in Victoria. The Muscat of Alexandria variety is believed to have originated in North Africa and spread
around the Mediterranean from the port of Alexandria, Egypt, possibly during the Roman Empire. The variety has found a natural home in the vineyards of Victoria, where
the grapes are grown sustainably in vineyards that are certified by Sustainable Wines of Australia.
Winemaking
This wine is made from Muscat of Alexandria grapes. The grapes were harvested from early February to late March 2024 at baumés ranging from 11.6 to 14.4. Fruit was
crushed to drainers, pressed, fermented in stainless steel tanks using Chardonnay yeast and stored at 0° before being bottled. The wine was bottled soon after fermentation
with an alcohol of 5.5% and with a light spritz from retained CO2 to maintain freshness.
Tasting Note
A wine of universal appeal, the 2024 Moscato is beautifully clean with a light straw colour and some youthful green tinges. The nose is lifted with aromas of musk, citrus
and freshly crushed grapes. In the mouth the wine is alive with a vibrant and mouthfilling sherbet flavour. The retained natural carbon dioxide from fermentation gives a
mild frizzante effect resulting in a lively and fresh wine. Serve well chilled and enjoy while young and vibrant.
