Innocent Bystander Sparkling Moscato

Innocent Bystander Sparkling Moscato

Innocent Bystander Moscato has it, and it’s not afraid to flaunt it. Sweet, juicy berries, generous bubbles and a fresh finish that goes for days. It’s not easy to make a wine that looks and tastes this good, but this Moscato makes it look easy.

Smells of:-
Fairy floss, blackcurrant, Turkish delight and mandarin peel.

Tastes like:-
Wild strawberry, violets & honeycomb, with well-balanced sweetness.

Goes with:-
Fresh summer berries and double cream, Crêpes with lemon syrup and orange zest, and blue cheese with pear.

Innocent Bystander is born from an audacious spirit: the love child of a brewer-turned-winemaker with a natural curiosity and disregard for convention.

Nestled in the Yarra Valley, we’ve got a simple mantra: make wines we love to drink and share, without the fuss and pretence. After all, seriousness is for suits and you don’t see much of that where we come from. Instead, our winemakers show the duality of Innocent Bystander: one alchemist and one tinkering craftsman, each guilty in the crime of passion. Passion for creating bright, young, approachable wines that are best paired with people — from our flagship Pinot Noir to lip-smacking Moscato.

Pair this NV Moscato with fresh summer berries and double cream, crêpes with lemon syrup and orange zest, or cheesy basil pizza.

The fruit was chilled and crushed with six hours of skin contact to extract the brilliant fruit colour, followed by fermentation in 100% stainless steel (natural bubbles attributed to Charmat fermentation). Chilled, filtered and immediately bottled at 0°C.

Innocent Bystander

Innocent Bystander Wines

“Innocent Bystander is a Yarra Valley based winery producing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir alongside several emerging varietals including Pinot Gris, Moscato, Sangiovese & cool climate grown Shiraz. The label first came about when the Giant Steps team decided to produce wines from the many brilliant vineyards they came across in the Yarra Valley and beyond.
A visit to the winery in Healesville`s main street is a fascinating experience. Built around gravity flow principles and designed for hand making small batches of wine, the winery is an exercise in function over form, much like the strongly expressed views of its owners and winemaking team.
These are approachable, drinkable wines that deliver abundant fruit flavour – their winemakers like to think of them as “a bloody good drink!”

Yarra Valley

Victoria is a small state in area, but home to possibly the largest number of wineries in Australia, most of them which are small family-run operations. Victoria’s diverse topography, combining numerous mountain ranges, like the Grampians and the Victorian Pyrenees throughout the centre; flat plains in the northeast; and hilly, ocean-cooled reaches in the Melbourne area, make its vineyards amongst the most scenic in Australia. An enormous range of wine styles are available, and virtually every varietal flourishes in some part of the state.
