Campbells Rutherglen Muscat – Fresh raisin fruit backed by a hint of fortifying spirit and aged oak characters. Luscious mouthfilling raisin fruit followed by cleansing spirit. Tastes of Luscious mouthfilling raisined fruit combine with the oak flavours to produce a wine of great length.
Blended through our solera for optimum flavour and balance, this wine will not improve with further cellaring and should ideally be enjoyed soon after opening. Excellent chilled as an aperitif or
with strong cheeses, plum pudding or after dinner with freshly brewed coffee.
Each season grapes are picked after prolonged ripening to ensure maximum sugar levels and raisin character. The resultant wine is blended into our soleras to maintain a consistent house style when combined with
wines from previous vintages. This wine contains portions from a number of vintages over several years.
The grapes are left until late in the season to achieve optimum ripeness, ensuring maximum fruit flavour and a high degree of natural sweetness. Selected parcels of the finished wine are then added to the Rutherglen
Muscat solera which is a blend of a number of vintages from many past years. Wine can only be withdrawn from this solera when it matches exactly with the previous withdrawal thus ensuring the quality and
consistency of style.

Brothers Malcolm and Colin are the fourth generation to carry on the Campbell tradition started by their great grandfather John Campbell in Rutherglen in 1870. Together with their wives Jenny and Prue, they have forged a strong reputation for Campbells as a benchmark Rutherglen wine producer.
This region is predominately a fortified wine area, with the unique styles of fortified Muscat and Tokay (often termed as Australia’s most distinctive wines). Lindsay Brown a pastoralist, first planted vines in the 1850s following advice from newly arrived German settlers. His lead was followed by a group of retired miners who established wineries that to this day bear their names, Campbell’s Winery, Gehrig Wines, Morris Wines and G. Sutherland Smith & Sons. Many of the wineries and vineyards today were established before the turn of the 19th century. The climate is regarded as warm. The main wine styles: Rich fortified Muscats & Tokays; Port – hugh tannic reds requiring many years’ cellaring to come into balance.
