Mollydooker Blue Eyed Boy

Mollydooker Blue Eyed Boy

Mollydooker Blue Eyed Boy Shiraz. Upon smelling this wine, your senses are immediately drawn in by a bouquet of deep blueberry, rich plum and coffee. These prominent fruit flavours are closely followed by chocolate and lustrous licorice spice with creamy vanilla constantly weaving its way through. This beautifully balanced wine is a classic representation of our Blue Eyed Boy: truly a vibrant, ripe, and indulgent experience.

Mollydooker Blue Eyed Boy is dense in colour with vibrant dark purple hues. A complex, alluring and lifted nose of blueberry, dark cherry, caramel and hints of vanilla bean leap from the glass. Powerful yet delicate, the wine voices luscious layers of fresh berries, black pepper, coffee and a finishing note of chocolate cream. Full bodied, well defined tannins provide the backbone, as the wine fills the mouth and continues to evolve with every glass poured.

To get the best out of your Mollydooker wine you should apply the Mollydooker shake.

From a new bottle of Mollydooker, pour some wine out into a glass and set it aside. Do the Mollydooker Shake on the rest of the wine in the bottle, and pour some into another glass. Then taste them side by side. The difference will amaze you! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCGFz3nnakE

The winemaker says “Pre-shaken the wines are intense, concentrated and still magnificent. However, after the shake the wine becomes more approachable, the aromatics are lifted and the fruit is smoother on the palate. An overall more enjoyable and total Mollydooker experience!”

Don’t worry, the first glass you poured isn’t wasted. After a short time, it loses nitrogen, so you can enjoy it soon after. We call it pourer’s perks!

South Australia

Langhorne Creek is a little known region with major importance, especially for the production of red wine. Fragrant Cabernet Sauvignon with its minty overtones is the most significant product of the region. Viticulture dates from the 1850s when Frank Potts established Bleasdale the region’s only winery to stay in continuous production. It was only in the 1990s that the major wine companies started setting up in the region. Its significance being the availability and certainty of irrigation water from the Murray-Darling system, providing the facility to grow grapes of very good quality at relatively low costs. It has a mild climate with little variation across the region. The main wine styles: Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz.

Shiraz

flourish in a range of climates. In the warm to hot climates you can expect extremely intense aromatic, rich, full bodied wines, with hugh fruit (almost sweet) and chocolately tasting. In the more moderate/cooler climates you’re more likely to find structured Shiraz wines with black cherry, pepper and spice characters rather than the chocolate and fruit styles found in warmer climates.
