River Retreat Sparkling Case

River Retreat Sparkling Brut

River Retreat Sparkling Brut

NV BRUT Winemaking The grapes were picked during the cool of the night, the fruit was de-stemmed and pumped into the press. Only the best quality of free run juice was taken off; then clarified before adding yeast. The fermentation was carried out at a cool temperature to maintain the fruit flavours. After fermentation the base wine was allowed to rest on yeast lees for 6 months before undergoing a second fermentation to produce the fine bubbles. The Wine Light green straw in colour with a fine persistant bead showing lifted aromas of citrus and apple. Tasting soft and refreshing with light creaminess and balance.

With Food – A delicate wine well matched with soft cheeses and canapes. Wine Information Varietal/s: Chardonnay and Pinot Noir Region: Murray Darling Alc: 11.5% VOL Acid: 6.0g/L pH: 3.47

Trentham Estate is proud to announce its continued commitment to water conservation and wetland restoration, through a new partnership with the Murray Darling Wetlands Working Group Ltd.

Trentham Estate has long strived to provide support to localised Murray Darling research activities for sustainable water supply, quality and capacity. With the recent closure of the Lower Basin Laboratory in Mildura, it has looked to another respected organisation to support during a time of much strain on the local environment. For over 20 years, the Murray Darling Wetlands Working Group Ltd has worked on wetlands throughout the Murray-Darling Basin, restoring and improving the management of wetlands throughout the catchment, of the Murray-Darling Basin.

Trentham Estate’s River Retreat label, now vegan friendly, will proudly continue Trentham’s dedication to corporate responsibility – whereby every bottle purchased of River Retreat wine will result in a donation towards the Murray Darling Wetlands Working Group.

With many great projects currently underway in the far-west region of NSW, the Murray Darling Wetlands Working Group will benefit greatly from these ongoing funds.

“We are thrilled to be able to contribute to the restoration of our precious river system and we are confident that the Murray Darling Wetlands Working Group will make a real difference within the river region.” says winemaker Anthony Murphy.

Enchanted Garden Riesling

Enchanted Garden Riesling

Enchanted Garden Riesling by Dandelion Vineyards

Colour
Pale white-gold; clear, bright and engagingly luminescent.
Nose
Fresh! Red apples – both fruit and skin. And musk. Musk in its many guises and forms: sweet, floral, heavy, and powerfully aromatic. Underlying the top notes come citrus and citrus zest, and the blossom of both orange and lime. It seems at one moment too heady, the next too ethereal. It is riesling in the shadows.
Palate
And perhaps because of these beguiling aromatics this wine really does provide quite a lot of wine in the glass. There is a lot going on. Acid line and length act like train tracks along which glide mineral salts and sea asparagus, slate and fresh-running Alpine river water from a glacier’s melt. It is citric and also succulent; the musk qualities return, enmeshed in the acid structure and the wine’s purity and truth.
Drink
At 11% alcohol here is a wine demanding pre-luncheon attention, from simple charcuterie to home-shucked oysters. Fresh fruits and soft cheeses? Why not.
But for every bottle you drink today you ought keep one bottle in your climate controlled, internet-ready, drone monitored, carbon-neutral eco-cellar. For at least 5 years. Then pork rillette with toasted rye bread, on a Monday in very late autumn, in a moment of tranquility.

Dandelion Vineyards is a unique fusion of vineyards and vignerons. Our wines represent decades of experience, blending the fruit of our old vine gardens with the finest traditions of artisan winemaking.
Dandelion Vineyards are proven plantings that have stood the test of time. Our wish is to nurture the unique character of these vineyards and express their terroir in our wines. Capturing variety, vintage and vineyard requires
an enlightened approach and although vignerons see the Devil in every weed, we encourage the humble Dandelion amongst the vines as they suppress winter weeds, provide mulch in summer, and proffer their Wishing Clocks in spring to blow off and make our wish come true.
Our Enchanted Garden was planted in 1910 and thrives to this day, a 7 acre Eden Valley Vine Garden.

Cloud Factory Sauvignon Blanc

Cloud Factory Sauvignon Blanc

Cloud Factory Sauvignon Blanc – Perfumed with nettle & ripe tropical fruits which are evident on the palate too along with limey flavours and a rich minerality – classic Marlborough Sauvignon. The wine is sappy fresh, clean and delicious.

Fruit for this wine comes from vineyards throughout Marlborough’s Wairau Valley. From the coastal vineyard of Rarangi (coastal pea gravels, sand and silts, cooler coastal site) up through the central (old riverbed gravels with think fertile top soil) and southern valley vineyards (clay loams over silts and gravels, warm sheltered site) to the Rapaura area vineyards (stoney riverbed soils). The vines are grown on the VSP trellis system to give optimal cropping to gain maximum flavour during the growing season. Grapes are picked and immediately pressed to tanks for clarification. The fruit was gently pressed, cold settled, racked and cool fermented with selected yeast strains to enhance the unique aromatics & flavours. Each individual parcel was then racked, before being blended together to create this generous full-textured style. The wine was then filtered, and bottled to retain & capture the remarkable freshness of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

Perfumed with nettle ripe tropical fruits which are also evident on the palate along with limey flavours and a rich minerality – classic Marlborough Sauvignon. The wine is sappy fresh, clean and delicious.

Try with white fish, seafood, grilled asparagus, avocado with prawns.

Listening Station Shiraz

Listening Station Shiraz

Listening Station Shiraz

Soft supple Victorian Shiraz, dangerously moreish by the glass. Bright, aromatic and juicy on the nose with just a touch of naughty bacon fat and white pepper. True to the varietal. This vintage is our brightest, most dangerously drinkable Shiraz to date due to its fine, bright fruit and soft silky elegance.

Our Shiraz is sourced from ancient Victorian soils in order to achieve a wine with greater finesse, purity and structure as well as typical eucalypt flavours and saline finish associated with the area. Picked at night and crushed within an hour of picking before being sent to the fermentation tanks. The Shiraz grapes were fermented in temperature-controlled tanks maintained at 22 Р25ºC to avoid extracting any harsh tannins, with the fermentations pumped over to extract good colour. 20% of the final blend is barrel aged.

Drink with Moroccan lamb tagine, roast vegetables and hard cheeses.

Victoria’s cooler climate ensures the grapes used for this wine come in with wonderfully fresh flavours. This Shiraz has sweet spice, black cherry and a lovely menthol, eucalyptus note. On the palate the wine has a medium body with some ripe cola cube notes with cherry fool and fresh blackberries. This is a fantastic value for money Shiraz that is perfect for lamb stew or lasagna.
