The Muscat Rose à Petits Grains vines are planted in their iconic Luminosa vineyard, situated at the top of the prestigious Boodjidup Valley. A hands on approach to viticulture allows us to maximise
the heady aromatics inherent in the muscat grape and allow the cool and slow ripening period to create delicate flavours while maintaining high natural acidity to perfectly balance the natural
sweetness and pétillance of this wine.
Every vintage carries its own signature, but 2024 defied all expectations. Defined by an El Niño season without significant rain from late September through harvest, our vines thrived under clear
skies, accelerating flavour development across our varietals. Good viticulture reigned supreme and the cooler part of Margaret River as always… was the place to be.
The grapes are cooled before crushing to the press, remaining on skins for up to 8 hours to extract colour and flavour. The juice is settled bright, and then fermented cold until the desired alcohol
level is reached. The fermentation is undertaken at very low temperature to maintain the natural grape sugars and CO2 that has evolved during fermentation.
Margaret River’s micro climate is well known to be very conducive to the production of Bordeaux style wines. This wine is a good example of a well structured Cabernet Sauvignon varietal.
This boutique winery in the heart of Margaret River creates idiosyncratic named ranges like Suckfizzle in a low interventionist and organic way keeping their approach as simple as possible to allow their cherished vineyards to show their quality.
It is not merely in the names where these wines are memorable, as once you have tasted them you will see why Luke Jolliffe, the winemaker, continues to receive recognition and awards from around the world for wines that have that wonderful Margaret River restraint and elegance, but are bound together with a fruit purity that makes them delectable.
Their philosophy regarding viticulture is simple, and that is to operate in a manner that consciously respects the vineyards that they tend as well as the local environment. Minimal chemical inputs and fertilisers are used along with minimal intervention as – aiming for vine balance. Stella Bella are acutely aware of the environmentally pristine nature of this part of the world and manage their vineyards accordingly.

Margaret River Wines
Regarded as one of Australia’s best wine producing regions. It is synonymous with a new era in Australian wine. Margaret River Wine really began its vineyard life as a result of two research reports from Californian viticulturalist Professor Harold Olmo and the Western Australian scientist Dr John Gladstone. In 1965 Dr Gladstone’s report indicated that the region had all the attributes to produce world quality wines. This advise was acted on by Dr Tom Cullity who set up his Vasse Felix vineyard near Willyabrup, followed by Dr Kevin Cullen and his wife Di who set up Cullen Wines. The climate is regarded as ‘cool’ because of its long slow ripening season. This region is regarded along with Coonawarra and the Yarra Valley as one of the premium Cabernet Sauvignon areas in Australia. The main wine styles: Red – Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet-Merlot, Shiraz; White – Chardonnay, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon-Sauvignon Blanc, Verdelho.
