River Retreat Sauvignon Blanc
River Retreat Sauvignon Blanc – Pale green in colour with lifted aromas of lychee and passionfruit. The palate is finely balanced with crisp acidity and attractive fruit flavours. Enjoy while young and fresh.
The grapes were picked during the cool of the night, de-stemmed and pumped into the press. Only the best quality free run juice was taken off, cold settled then later racked to ferment. The ferment was carried out with selected yeast to enhance the Sauvignon Blanc varietal characters. Post fermentation, the wine was stabilised, clarified and bottled.
The wetlands of South Eastern Australia are integral in maintaining the health of the unique yet fragile ecosystems of inland Australia. Produced and bottled by Trentham Estate, the River Retreat range of wines is based on an initiative dedicated to raising awareness of these wetlands. Each purchase of the River Retreat label results in a donation to the Murray Darling Wetlands Working Group Ltd.
With many great projects currently underway in the far-west region of NSW, the Murray Darling Wetlands Working Group will benefit greatly from these ongoing funds.
We have a great selection of Trentham Estate wines which can be seen on our dedicated web page

Trentham Estate is a small boutique winery located on the banks of the Murray River. It produces wines of outstanding value for money with great varietal fruit flavours.
Trentham’ s winery has been operating since 1988, where it has grown from the initial 30 tonne crush to a minimal but state-of-the-art facility handling up to 5,000 tonnes of premium fruit each vintage. It allows the flexibility to perform different winemaking styles, resulting in the diverse and always consistent Trentham Estate wines.
The first winery in the region was established in the 1880s by W.B. Chaffey (Mildura Wine Co at Merbein). Today there are around nine/ten wineries in this region. This may not sound so many for a large area, but they are some of the largest wineries and their production is enormous. References such as: ‘the industrial heartland of Australian wine production’, ‘the powerhouse of the Australian wine industry’ are often used to describe this region wine production. The climate is continental; hot and dry with low rainfall making it a relatively fungus disease free region thus reducing the risk for such large-scale production. The main wine styles: Chardonnay, Semillon.
Originating from the Loire Valley in France, this grape produces distinct crisp and dry styled wines. The characteristics typically citrus fruits, gooseberry, passion fruit. This grape is best for cooler climates, the Adelaide Hills being a premier region.
