Ladies who Shoot their Lunch Chardonnay

Ladies Who Shoot Their Lunch Chardonnay is a cool-climate, wild-ferment Australian white from the Strathbogie Ranges, Victoria. This 13-13.5% ABV wine is characterized by aromas of peach, melon, and subtle vanilla with a creamy, textured, and complex palate. It is a bold yet balanced, medium-to-full-bodied Chardonnay.

Wild-ferment Chardonnay with the rich texture of double cream restrained by a fine minerality, overflowing with melon and peach and scented with long-lasting notes of vanilla.

The 2022 vintage is recognized for its refined, “restrained” style with good acidity and potential for aging.

Fowles Wine’s Ladies Who Shoot Their Lunch Wild Ferment Chardonnay is an astutely created, boutique Australian wine that is as unique as its name suggests. This is not an everyday Chardonnay, but a beautifully wild and robust version. Made from handpicked grapes, it undergoes a wild fermentation process, produced in small batches to maintain its distinct quality. The palate is rich with traces of stone fruits and toasted nuts, balanced neatly with a vibrant citrus hint. It is a full-bodied and textured wine, underpinned by a subtle minerality and a soft, buttery finish. A delightful drink to pair with your favourite game dishes.

Fowles Wine

Fowles Wine comes from the very cool-climate of the Strathbogie Ranges in Victoria. Amongst other innovations, they have pioneered wine specifically blended to match wild game. Whilst winning many of the best ‘traditional’ awards in the Australian wine scene and being named a “Winery to Watch” by Wine Spectator, Fowles Wine has a culture of doing things differently! (They are also the largest winery in Australia controlled by Gen Y.)

Strathbogie Ranges

The modern wine history began in the mid 1970s with Dr Peter Tisdall establishing the Mount Helen vineyard. Followed by Plunketts’s in the late 1970s. Since then the region has expanded steadily. The climate is regarded as cool. The main wine styles: White – Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc; Red – Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot.

Chardonnay

Australia’s most widely planted white grape variety. The heavily oaked styles of the earlier nineties are now being replaced with styles emphasising the regional fruit and greater complexity. The cooler climate regions producing styles of great elegance and finesse.
