The Accomplice Chardonnay

The Accomplice Chardonnay

The Accomplice Chardonnay

The Accomplice Chardonnay – Pale straw yellow hue. A bouquet of white nectarine and pineapple, as well as underlying vanilla oak, complementing the overall freshness of the wine. Soft and creamy palate, with textural notes as well as concentrated stone fruits. Oak is well integrated, as well as gentle acid, overall tying into a round, generous finish.

Following a dry winter it was late spring and early summer rains that gave the vines the impetus for growth with average yields across the white varieties. We were able to begin harvest on 21st January. With the lower crops the fruit ripened quite quickly and cleanly.

Great with Homemade Shepard’s Pie.

Let the Accomplice be your partner in wine. Cheeky, fun, easy drinking wine for everyday.

The De Bortoli family story is one of determination and triumph that started 90 years ago and is now told, generations later, across Australia.
Their heritage encompasses the universal story of immigrants making good in an adopted land, the rise and rise of the Australian wine industry and the tale of a hardworking and innovative family
who considers good wine, good food and good friends to be among the true pleasures in life.
Today, as a fourth generation enters the family business, De Bortoli is amongst the top wine producers of Australia with vineyards spanning 6 premium wine regions.

Long before sustainability became mainstream, De Bortoli launched a far-reaching environmental program focused on zero-waste production, water efficiency and biological farming. Today the family farms vineyards across five premium regions, producing wines that combine generosity, balance and environmental responsibility. Run by third generation siblings Darren, Leanne, Kevin and Victor, the fourth generation are already hot on the heels, contributing winemaking expertise and innovation as the company nears its 100 year anniversary.

De Bortoli Wines

“De Bortoli Wines is a third generation family wine company established by Vittorio and Giuseppina De Bortoli in 1928. The couple emigrated to Australia from Northern Italy, from mountain villages at the foothills of the Italian Alps, near the historic town of Asolo.
Their son, the energetic and dynamic Deen De Bortoli, (b 1936 – d 2003) expanded and consolidated the business created by his parents. Deen’s children established De Bortoli’s reputation for premium wine including icon dessert wine Noble One and the Yarra Valley wines.”

Riverina

The Riverina region is the largest wine producing region in NSW and incorporates the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Scheme Area. The Murrumbidgee Irrigation Scheme Area was completed in 1912. Soon after the McWilliam family established their first vineyard. The McWilliam family and influence of Italian immigrants were major factors in the subsequent development of the wine growing/making in this region. The region is best known for its bulk wine; however, some wineries are making a name as ’boutique’ producers of premium wines. The climate is regarded as very hot. The main wine styles: Botrytised Semillons; Red – Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot.

Chardonnay

Australia’s most widely planted white grape variety. The heavily oaked styles of the earlier nineties are now being replaced with styles emphasising the regional fruit and greater complexity. The cooler climate regions producing styles of great elegance and finesse.
