Are You Game Shiraz is Juicy dark plum and blackberries underlined with hints of black olive and cool climate spice. Medium bodied, with lovely integrated oak, fine, dusty tannins and blackcurrant on the finish.
The fruit for this wine was picked in April 2021 using a selective harvester. The juice was fermented using wild yeasts and carefully selected cultures which promote fruit and spice characters. For 12 – 18 months, parcels of this wine were matured with new French and American oak to provide complexity and contribute lovely vanillin notes. A dash of Cabernet Sauvignon was added to the final blend to provide a black cherry perfume lift and further structure on the palate.
Are You Game Shiraz goes perfectly with roast pork and crackling with all the trimmings and with with all manner of meaty morsels.
On the nose – Ripe dark plums, lifted lavender and florals meld with hints of sweet dark cherries and oak.

Fowles Wine comes from the very cool-climate of the Strathbogie Ranges in Victoria. Amongst other innovations, they have pioneered wine specifically blended to match wild game. Whilst winning many of the best ‘traditional’ awards in the Australian wine scene and being named a “Winery to Watch” by Wine Spectator, Fowles Wine has a culture of doing things differently! (They are also the largest winery in Australia controlled by Gen Y.)
The modern wine history began in the mid 1970s with Dr Peter Tisdall establishing the Mount Helen vineyard. Followed by Plunketts’s in the late 1970s. Since then the region has expanded steadily. The climate is regarded as cool. The main wine styles: White – Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc; Red – Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot.
