The Vasse Felix Heytesbury Chardonnay is a premier, award-winning white wine from Margaret River, Australia, crafted from select Gingin clone plots. Renowned for its complex, tight, and savoury style, it features aromas of stone fruit, flint, and citrus, with refined oak influence from wild yeast fermentation and barrel maturation. It is a selection of the most unique and striking vineyard sections, recognised for its innovative winemaking and distinguishing ‘Heytesbury’ character.
This Chardonnay is considered a flagship wine of the region and is ideal for pairing with rich seafood, white meats, or mature cheeses.
Pretty pale-yellow garnet.
Wonderfully complex, showing classic aromas of fine stone flint, lamb fat, and champignon, alongside custard lemon biscuits. Subtle hints of wet limestone and ocean spray evoke the region’s maritime influence, while a touch of white leather and sweet new straw bring savoury notes.
Beautifully structured with long taut acid lines that provide strength and power. A fine, dry phenolic texture adds a layer of tension, complementing the wine’s depth. The palate evolves with lingering flavours of grapefruit, clotted cream and hints of ginger and lime leaf.

Vasse Felix was established in 1967 and is Margaret River’s founding wine estate. Founder, Dr Tom Cullity, searched the region relentlessly for his first vineyard site, before selecting eight acres in Wilyabrup, which today remains at the heart of the Vasse Felix Estate. The Holmes à Court family purchased the estate in 1987, and vineyard expansions have been made with an unwavering commitment unnecessary to Cullity’s simple founding aim –“to make the best possible wine.”

Margaret River Wines
Regarded as one of Australia’s best wine producing regions. It is synonymous with a new era in Australian wine. Margaret River Wine really began its vineyard life as a result of two research reports from Californian viticulturalist Professor Harold Olmo and the Western Australian scientist Dr John Gladstone. In 1965 Dr Gladstone’s report indicated that the region had all the attributes to produce world quality wines. This advise was acted on by Dr Tom Cullity who set up his Vasse Felix vineyard near Willyabrup, followed by Dr Kevin Cullen and his wife Di who set up Cullen Wines. The climate is regarded as ‘cool’ because of its long slow ripening season. This region is regarded along with Coonawarra and the Yarra Valley as one of the premium Cabernet Sauvignon areas in Australia. The main wine styles: Red – Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet-Merlot, Shiraz; White – Chardonnay, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon-Sauvignon Blanc, Verdelho.
