In the history of Western Australia wine there has been no individual greater than Jack Mann. During his legendary reign at Houghton for 51 consecutive vintages, Jack’s passion, creative genius and unrelenting search for unique flavour and character led him to create HWB in 1937, one of Australia’s most famous wines. Whilst a true sage of the wine industry, making award winning white, red and fortified wines, his other great love was cricket. In 1964 Jack was awarded an MBE in recognition of his achievement and contribution to Western Australia wine.
